Undergraduate Admission

For the undergraduate programs, the College of Agriculture admits students through the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT). UPCAT is a five-hour examination consisting of sub-tests on language proficiency, reading comprehension, mathematics and sciences. The test is administered in English and Filipino. High school graduates who wish to be admitted must pass the UPCAT.

A graduate of an accredited high school may be admitted as freshman to the University of the Philippines Los Baños on the basis of: (1) his performance in the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT); (2) his weighted average in the first three years of high school; and (3) his choice of UP campus and the quotas for specific degree programs/colleges set by the respective Deans.

Eligible to take the UPCAT are : students of DepEd-accredited high schools who have not taken the UPCAT previously and are

    • high schools seniors (i.e. Fourth Year/Grade 12) expecting to graduate at the end of the school year; or high school graduates who have not taken and/or are not taking any college subject.
    • those declared eligible for admission to college after taking the Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT).

In both 1 and 2 above, the applicants must have final grades corresponding to the First , Second and Third Year of the 1-year secondary school curriculum in DepEd-accredited high schools or grades 9, 10 and 11 for international, foreign and similar schools.
