Apply as ADSC Major Student

1. Get the following forms from the ADSC Director’s Office (look for Ms. Guen G. Mangaring

a. ADSC Undergraduate Major Admission Form No. 1
b. BSA Plan of Major Course Work

The ADSC Undergraduate Major Students Admission and Welfare Committee will conduct an interview at the ADSC DO-Conference Room.

Accomplish the ADSC Undergraduate Admission Form No. 1 (including all the necessary attachments: True Copy of Grades (TCG) from the College Secretary and 3 pieces 2x2 colored pictures) and submit them to Ms. Mangaring.

2. Submitted forms will be pre-screened and selected applicants will be scheduled for the interview. Interview schedule will be posted at the Director’s Office Friday before the set schedule.

3. During the interview, a major adviser will be assigned to the applicant. Fill up the BSA Plan of Major Course Work in consultation with the assigned major adviser. Have the Adviser, ADSC Director and College Secretary sign the BSA Plan of Major Course Work.

4. Submit the accomplished ADSC Undergraduate Major Admission Form No. 1, approved BSA Plan of Major Course Work together with the 3 pieces of 2x2 colored pictures to Ms. Mangaring.

5. A copy of the approved BSA Plan of Major Course Work must be kept by the applicant for future use.

Important Reminders

  • There will be a scheduled time of interview for the selected applicants. The applicant must be present at the venue 15 minutes before his/her schedule.
  • Applicants must have taken and passed ANSC 1 and ANSC 2. If currently enrolled in ANSC 2, the applicant must have a midterm average of 75 or better.
  • Applicants who intend to specialize in animal nutrition, animal breeding and animal physiology are required to have thesis as their major option.
  • Applicants who intend to specialize in animal nutrition must have an average grade of 2.50000 or better in Chem 15 and Chem 15.1 computed on the number of units earned. 

Students' Guide to the Interview

  • Introduce yourself (name, age, year level, address, etc.)
  • Why do you intend to major in animal science?
  • What will be your area of specialization? Why?
  • What are your subjects of interest? (math, chemistry, biology, etc.)
  • What are your plans after graduation? Expected work? Plans to pursue graduate studies (i.e. MS)?
  • What problem/ topic do you want to work on for your thesis?
  • Technical questions may be asked during the interview
