ADSC Linkages

ADSC has linkages with several local SCU's, government agencies, NGO's and private local and multi-national companies in the livestock industry for consultancy and advisory services, sharing of expertise, facilities and equipment, study visits, exchange of information materials, capacity building and research and extension collaboration and funding.

In addition, the cluster has also formed tie-ups with some of these companies for the upgrading of ADSC research and instruction facilities. It started in 2012 with talks during informal gatherings with alumni and intimate friends and colleagues and informal meetings with some stakeholders majority of whom were ADSC graduates. After several consultations, multi-national companies pour in to ADSC resources to make the dream come true. These are the following companies with their contribution to ADSC.

 

Univet Nutrition and Animal Health Company

UNAHCO links with the UPLB FI through the ADSC-UPLB, for the conduct of long term seasonal change effects on the growth and reproductive performance of swine and poultry. Two (2) buildings for swine and three (3) for poultry (house B, C and E) are the designated research and farm facilities in the University Animal Farm. The UNAHCO shall provide P360,000.00 per year to UPLBFI for the term of this agreement which is from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2017.

Philchema

Philchema donated 10 brand new computer sets complete with CPU, flat screen monitor, key boards and mouse with Licensed Microsoft Operating (Windows 7) and Microsoft Office (Education package). The donation amounted to P232,630.00. These computers will be used for instruction especially in feed formulations and research methods courses.

A mini-bus and a pick-up were also donated for use of instruction, research and extension activities of the Cluster. The two vehicles were brand new.

DICONEX Philippines, Inc.

An essential part of our operation is the continued research and identification of products and processes that are valuable to the country’s technology-starved industries. Their significant contribution was they conducted collaborative research with the ADSC.

The Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation

The UPLB through the ADSC engages in a public-private partnership activities to enhance research and education for mutual benefits of the academic and the industry. PFMC funded a collaborative project with ADSC titled, "Establishment of an Advanced Animal Science Research and Training Laboratory". This includes the renovation of the Old Swine Building and Pens into an Advanced Animal Sciences Research and Training Laboratory and provision of lab equipment.
